Some event work does not fit into a single day. A brand may run sampling every weekend for six months, staff a seasonal venue program, place ambassadors in the same stores week after week or build a field marketing team that eventually becomes part of the company. For those needs, booking event staff one date at a time creates more work than it saves. Rockstarr Media offers contract staffing for ongoing programs and direct-hire support for brands that want to bring people onto their own payroll. We have been staffing events since 2001 and know the people side of long programs well: consistency, reliability and the right fit matter far more over six months than over six hours.
With contract staffing, people work your program through Rockstarr for a defined period, and we handle casting, scheduling and the employment side while you direct the work. With direct hire, we help you find candidates for your own roles, drawing on our talent network and our experience of what makes someone succeed in event and field marketing. Either way, you get real people cast by us, local staff in every major US city and the towns around them, and one point of contact. Alcohol programs are staffed with models certified and trained to serve, with licensing in every state we work. Every arrangement is quoted up front.
What our contract and direct-hire event staff do
Staff long-running programs
Contract staff cover weekly sampling, recurring retail demos, seasonal venue promotions and multi-month tours, giving you the same familiar faces week after week instead of a new team every shift.
Cover seasonal peaks
When festival season, holidays or a product launch push your calendar well beyond normal, contract staff add capacity for the weeks you need it without permanent additions to your headcount.
Build dedicated brand teams
We can assemble a group of ambassadors or demonstrators who work only on your program for its duration, learning your products thoroughly and representing your brand consistently.
Find people to hire directly
For roles you want on your own payroll, such as field marketers, brand ambassadors or event coordinators, we help identify and introduce candidates suited to the role, the market and your brand.
Keep coverage steady
When a contract staffer cannot make a shift, we work to cover it from our local talent in that market, so your program keeps running rather than leaving an empty table in a store.
Bring event experience
Candidates and contract staff come with a background in live events and brand work, which shortens the time it takes for them to perform well in front of your customers.
Contract or direct hire: which fits your program?
The right choice depends on how permanent the need is and how much of the employment side you want to manage. Contract staffing suits programs with a clear end date, seasonal swings or uncertain budgets. You get people quickly, the agency handles casting, scheduling and the employment side, and you can scale the team up or down as the program evolves. Direct hire suits roles you expect to need indefinitely, where knowledge built over time is valuable and where you want the person fully integrated into your company. It takes longer to fill and brings ongoing employment costs, but it creates long-term capability. Many brands use a mix: contract staff for the weekend sampling team, a direct hire for the field marketing manager who oversees them. If you are unsure, a contract arrangement first lets you test the role and the person before committing. We will talk through the options with you and quote whichever route fits.
Writing a role description that attracts the right people
Whether you are booking contract staff or hiring directly, a clear role description saves time on both sides. Start with what the person will actually do in a typical week, in plain language, not a list of buzzwords. Say where the work happens, how many hours it involves and which days, since weekends and evenings matter a great deal to event talent. Spell out the skills you genuinely need, such as product demonstration, public speaking, a second language, alcohol service certification or a driver's license, and separate them from nice-to-haves. Describe your brand's personality so candidates can judge whether they fit. Be honest about the hard parts: long days on your feet, early setups, travel between stores or heavy materials. People who know what they are signing up for stay longer and perform better. Share the description with us early, and we will use it to cast or source candidates who match what you need.
Onboarding long-term event staff
People who work your program for months need more than a one-page event brief. Give them a proper introduction to your brand: its story, its customers, its products and how it talks. Provide product training that goes deeper than the key points, because long-term staff will hear every possible question eventually. Explain how success is measured and share results regularly, so they see the impact of their work. Make sure they know who to contact for what, from scheduling questions to product issues. Consider a check-in after the first two or three weeks to catch problems early and answer questions that only appear once someone has done the job a few times. Recognize good work; consistent, visible appreciation keeps long-term staff engaged far more effectively than anything else. Finally, refresh the material whenever products, offers or messages change, so the people representing you are never the last to know what you are selling.
From brief to booth
- 1
Define the role and term
We discuss the work, the schedule, the markets, the length of the program and whether you want contract staff, direct hire or contract first with the option to hire later.
- 2
Find and cast the people
We cast from our own talent network for the role, focusing on reliability and fit as well as presentation. For direct hire, we introduce candidates for you to interview and choose.
- 3
Set up and onboard
Contract staff are briefed on your program and scheduled; direct-hire candidates move into your own onboarding process. Every arrangement is quoted and agreed in writing in advance.
- 4
Support for the long run
Your Rockstarr point of contact stays involved throughout a contract program, handling scheduling, cover and changes, and checking in regularly to make sure the arrangement still fits.
Local staff in every city we work
Many staffing agencies are based in one city and fly talent to the rest. Rockstarr Media already has staff in place in every major US city and the towns just outside them, so your team is local wherever your event is. It is rare that we need to fly anyone in.

Contract and Direct-Hire Event Staff: questions
What is the difference between contract and direct-hire event staff?
Contract staff work on your program through Rockstarr for a set period, and we handle casting, scheduling and the employment side while you direct the work. Direct-hire staff become your own employees; we help you find and introduce suitable candidates, and you interview, hire and onboard them through your own process.
How long can a contract arrangement last?
As long as your program needs. Contracts can cover a few weeks of seasonal promotion or many months of ongoing sampling, demos or venue work. We agree the term, schedule and markets at the start, and we can extend or adjust the arrangement as your plans change. Every arrangement is quoted in advance.
Can we start on contract and hire the person later?
That is often possible and is a sensible way to test a role and a person before committing. Tell us at the start if you think you may want to hire someone directly, so the terms are clear for everyone from day one and there are no surprises later.
Will we get the same people every week?
That is the aim of a contract program. Consistency is one of its main benefits, because familiar staff know your products, your stores and your customers. When someone cannot make a shift, we work to cover it with local talent from the same market and brief them on the program.
Can contract staff handle alcohol sampling?
Yes. Our models are certified and trained to serve alcohol, and we hold alcohol licensing in every state we work, including TABC certification in Texas. For ongoing alcohol programs, we make sure every person in a serving role is qualified for the state they are working in.
How are contract and direct-hire services priced?
Every arrangement is quoted individually. Contract pricing depends on the number of people, hours, markets and length of the program. Direct-hire terms depend on the role and the search involved. Tell us what you need and we will send a clear written quote before anything is agreed.
