Map Point Summit: EDC's New Las Vegas Conference Lands Between the Two 2027 Weekends

EDC Las Vegas is splitting into two weekends in 2027, and the days in between just got a purpose. Insomniac and Amsterdam Dance Event are launching Map Point Summit, a new three-day conference for electronic music and rave culture, at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in May 2027.

Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella introduced it in a keynote conversation at the 30th edition of Amsterdam Dance Event, the biggest yearly gathering of the electronic music business.

When and where

• Where: Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
• When: three days in May 2027, between EDC's Dusk weekend (May 14-16) and its Dawn weekend (May 21-23)
• Exact days and passes: not announced yet. You can register your interest now at mappointsummit.com

What it is

Map Point Summit is built for the people behind the parties: independent promoters, artists, creators, entrepreneurs and people working in the industry, from first-timers to executives. The plan is keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, educational exhibits, panels and a lot of time to meet each other.

ADE has spent three decades mixing a festival with a business conference in Amsterdam. Map Point is that idea brought to the middle of EDC week.

Why it is called Map Point

Before tickets lived on phones, raves were secret. You called a hotline or went to a "map point," a meeting spot where someone handed you directions to a party nobody was allowed to advertise. The summit takes that name back as a place where the scene meets up and passes on what it knows.

In Rotella's words

"Rave culture was built by ravers, for ravers. It started as a grassroots, community-driven movement with its own values, spirit, and way of doing things."

"We need to support independent promoters, share knowledge, create opportunities for the next generation, and work together to build an industry that allows rave culture to thrive on its own terms."

Why this matters if you want in

For most fans, the festival is the whole story. For anyone who wants to work in this world, it is the other way around: the jobs are behind the stage, at the activations, on camera and in the rooms where promoters and brands meet. A summit like this is a sign of how big that side of the scene has become.
