EDC Las Vegas is not getting bigger in 2027. It is getting longer, and on purpose, smaller. What was announced. Insomniac has confirmed that EDC Las Vegas 2027 splits into two separate weekends under a single banner called Dusk Till Dawn. EDC Dusk runs 14-16 May. EDC Dawn runs 21-23 May. The full span, including the programming between them, runs 14-24 May — twelve consecutive days. The part that is actually the story. The 2027 edition is designed to run at a lower capacity than recent years, with the stated aim of giving attendees more room and making travel arrangements easier. That is a genuinely unusual direction for a festival of this size. EDC Las Vegas drew 525,000 people across three nights for its 30th anniversary edition in May 2026. Splitting that demand across two weekends at a reduced per-night capacity is a decision to sell a better experience rather than a larger one. Pasquale Rotella framed it this way: "We wanted to reimagine EDC as a new type of immersive journey across 12 days and two consecutive weekend celebrations in one city we love." He has said the format lets attendees pick either weekend or both, and gives Insomniac more room to experiment with the festival experience itself. Why a festival would deliberately shrink a night. Anyone who has done the Speedway at peak hour knows the answer. The constraints on EDC Las Vegas have not been musical for years — they have been logistical. Shuttle queues, the ingress crush, the walk between kineticFIELD and the far stages, the 4am exit. Those are capacity problems, and they are the things that most reliably turn a first-time attendee into a non-returning one. Two weekends at lower density is a direct attack on that, and it follows the Tomorrowland model, which has run its bill twice across two weekends for over a decade. What it costs. The two-weekend model is not free for the audience. It fragments the crowd — the friend group that always went together now has to agree on a weekend. It complicates lineup expectations, because the open question no announcement has yet answered is whether Dusk and Dawn share a bill, as Tomorrowland's weekends do, or run different ones. Until Insomniac confirms that, nobody can sensibly choose a weekend. The wider 2027 calendar is already forming. Ultra Miami has confirmed 26-28 March 2027 at Bayfront Park, with Winter Music Conference returning 24-26 March at the Kimpton EPIC. That puts the season's two American anchors roughly seven weeks apart.
