And it is why, as we recruit new faces across San Antonio and the surrounding area, we want to hear from waitresses, servers, bartenders, hostesses and retail workers first. The skills you already use every shift. Casting is not only about how someone looks in a photo. It is about how she carries herself when a camera is pointed at her, a stranger is giving her directions and the clock is running. That is a shift. You already talk to strangers all day and make them feel welcome. You already stay calm under pressure and keep smiling when it is going sideways. You already show up on time, put together and ready for an eight hour day on your feet. You already take direction from a manager, adjust fast and get it right the second time. Those are not small things. Most people who walk into a casting have never done any of them. Why a shift beats a portfolio. New models often think they need professional photos, an agency or a big social media following before anyone will look at them. They do not. Agencies and casting teams start with simple, honest photos and the person behind them. What they cannot teach is presence: the warmth, the confidence and the stamina that you build working a floor or a counter for hours at a time. If you can hold a room at a restaurant, you are closer to modeling than you think. Who we want to hear from. Women 18 and older who live in or near San Antonio, across Bexar County and the surrounding towns, including New Braunfels, Boerne, Schertz, Seguin, Helotes, Converse, Live Oak, Universal City and the Hill Country.
