It's a Wrap: EDC Las Vegas 2026 Closes Its 30th Anniversary — Three Nights, 525,000 People, One Owl

It's done. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway emptied out under a Monday morning sky and EDC Las Vegas 2026 — the 30th anniversary edition of the festival that built American electronic music — closed sold-out, on time, and on a high. By the numbers: roughly 525,000 attendees across three nights, 200+ artists on 17 stages, six livestreamed feeds, and one kineticFIELD owl mainstage that ran full pyro on every headliner from Friday at sundown to Sunday at dawn.
Rockstarr Media filed live from the kineticFIELD risers from doors Friday to lights-up Monday. The label was on the ground all weekend as press, and our floor team covered the festival the way the festival deserves — set by set, stage by stage, sunrise to sunrise. This is the wrap.
Friday — the open. Charlotte de Witte closed kineticFIELD at 4:14 AM with a techno set that took the field through actual sunrise on opening night, and the build to her was as strong a Friday-night mainstage bill as EDC has run in a decade: Laidback Luke b2b Chuckie at sundown, Korolova through 9, Argy, the 10 PM opening ceremony, Chris Lorenzo, Sofi Tukker, The Chainsmokers' pre-fireworks close (a 68-minute hit parade that we reviewed in full), the 1:40 AM main pyro moment, Fisher's "Losing It" drop at 2:14, and Porter Robinson's surprise unannounced DJ set at 3:01. The room rebuilt itself between every act and never broke energy once.
Saturday — the peak. Above & Beyond took the sunrise close at kineticFIELD and ran a Group Therapy hour-and-change set that landed with the kind of weight the slot is built for. Before them: Kaskade, John Summit, Steve Aoki, Sub Focus, and Hardwell, whose first U.S. festival appearance outside Ultra Miami in several years pulled what was easily the biggest pre-headliner field of the weekend. The sunrise itself happened on schedule — we filed live as it landed.
Sunday — the close. The final night closed the 30th anniversary edition cleanly, the field thinner than Friday but locked in for the last set, the owl wings folding down on the 5:30 AM closing ceremony for the last time this cycle. The walk back to the shuttle lots was quieter than usual — that's a tell, in our experience, that the festival delivered. People who got what they came for don't talk much on the way out.
Beyond kineticFIELD: bassPOD, circuitGROUNDS, cosmicMEADOW, the new quantumVALLEY, bionicJUNGLE, neonGARDEN, wasteLAND, stereoBLOOM, and kineticTREE all ran headliners through dawn each night. Eric Prydz, Anyma, ARTBAT, Excision, Subtronics, Carl Cox — the side stages punched at mainstage weight all weekend. The new quantumVALLEY production drew the biggest non-mainstage queues we saw.
The Rockstarr Media weave. We were on the grounds all three nights with a press credential, a small floor team, and a desk filing in real time. Our coverage from the weekend, in order: a Friday-night dispatch from under the owl, a full review of The Chainsmokers' kineticFIELD set, a live update from the Saturday sunrise as it happened, and two ongoing programs that EDC made room for — the "You've Been Spotted" open call from the development board (the inquiry remains open through the board's Tuesday review), and the live 15-spot VIP on-stage contest that ran through Sunday. Coverage of all of it is linked at the bottom of this piece.
What worked. The owl. The opening ceremony at 10:00 PM Friday — drone formations across the canopy, the 30th-anniversary visual film, the production team holding the field silent before the lights came back. The sequencing of Friday's mainstage bill (the b2b → openers → ceremony → bass house → disco-house → arena pop → fireworks → big house → surprise DJ set → techno arc was tonal architecture, not just programming). Above & Beyond on Saturday sunrise as a slot pick. The kineticFIELD canopy production overall — the wing-close cue between every set is the kind of theatrical hand-off that separates a great festival from a great party.
What we will be watching. Insomniac will announce EDC Las Vegas 2027 dates in the coming months — typically the third weekend of May. The Chainsmokers, Above & Beyond, and Hardwell all left this weekend with momentum that's likely to land somewhere on the 2027 bill. Porter Robinson's surprise Friday DJ set has already started showing up in the festival rumor cycle for summer 2026 — we'll be on that one.
Thank you. To Insomniac, to Pasquale Rotella's team, to the production crew that ran six livestreams clean across three nights, to the artists who showed up to a festival on its anniversary and treated the room like the moment it was. EDC Las Vegas 2026 set the bar for the 30th. Rockstarr Media will be in the field for whatever comes next.
