Hire promo models who know Tucson

Tucson's event calendar peaks when the rest of the country is cold. From late January into mid-February, the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Shows spread across hotels, tents and convention space citywide, and La Fiesta de los Vaqueros, a winter rodeo running since 1925, follows right after on South 6th Avenue. Downtown, the Tucson Convention Center campus pairs exhibit halls with Tucson Arena, the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall and the Leo Rich Theater. Each March the University of Arizona campus hosts the free Tucson Festival of Books, while Kino Sports Complex, the Pima County Fairgrounds and Arizona Stadium handle large outdoor crowds.

Rockstarr Media has been putting staff on event floors since 2001, with more than 5,000 events behind us in over 100 US cities. Our Tucson team lives in town and in the communities around it, from Oro Valley and Marana to Sahuarita and Vail, so flying people in is rarely necessary. That matters most during gem-show weeks, when hotel rooms are hard to find. We have hundreds of staff available nationally, work with 25+ global brand partners and can add photo and video coverage through our media side.

Tucson details we plan for

Gem-show season is a citywide event

The Gem, Mineral & Fossil Shows are not one venue. Many independent shows run at hotels, tents and convention spaces from late January into mid-February. Give us the exact show name and booth location, and if your team covers more than one site, we build travel time between them into the schedule.

Plan around the heat and the monsoon

Tucson summer highs average close to 100°F, and the North American Monsoon brings sudden storms from midsummer into September. For outdoor activations we favor early-morning or evening shifts, plan shade and water for staff and guests, and keep a weather fallback for tents, signage and electronics.

Know which building on the TCC campus

The Tucson Convention Center at 260 S. Church Ave. is a campus of four venues: the convention center itself, Tucson Arena, the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall and the Leo Rich Theater. Tell us which building and entrance your booth or activation uses so staff check in at the right door on time.

Use the Sun Link streetcar corridor

The Sun Link streetcar connects downtown, Fourth Avenue, Main Gate Square and the University of Arizona. For street teams, sampling or campus-adjacent promotions, that corridor puts several districts within one shift, and staff can move between stops without hunting for parking.

Every year

Tucson's big activation dates

  • Late January to mid-February
Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Shows

More than 70 years old and spread across the city, drawing dealers, designers and collectors from around the world; booth and showroom staff are in high demand.

  • February
La Fiesta de los Vaqueros Tucson Rodeo

A nine-day outdoor winter rodeo established in 1925; a strong fit for sponsor displays, sampling and western-wear or automotive promotions.

  • March (second weekend)
    Tucson Festival of Books

A free two-day festival on the University of Arizona campus with six-figure attendance; good for exhibitor booths and family-friendly sampling.

Event names link to the organizers' sites. Rockstarr Media is not affiliated with these events.

FAQ

Promotional models in Tucson: questions

Can you staff a booth at the Tucson Gem Show?

Yes. We provide booth staff, showroom hosts and greeters for exhibitors across the Gem, Mineral & Fossil Shows, which run from late January into mid-February at many locations around the city. Because demand for staff and hotel rooms spikes during those weeks, booking a few weeks ahead gives us the widest choice of local people.

Do you cover Oro Valley, Marana and Green Valley?

Yes. Our Tucson staff live across the metro area, including Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita, Green Valley and Vail. That means suburban grand openings, retail promotions and community events get local people, without travel costs built around flying anyone in.

How do you handle outdoor events in Tucson's summer heat?

We schedule outdoor shifts for early morning or evening when possible, keep shifts shorter in peak heat, and plan shade, water and breaks for every staff member. During monsoon season we also ask about a covered fallback, because afternoon storms can arrive quickly and with strong wind.

Can you staff events near the University of Arizona?

Yes. We staff brand activations around Arizona Stadium, McKale Center and the campus, including the Festival of Books in March. The university sets its own rules for vendors and sampling, so we work from the guidelines your event organizer provides and confirm them before event day.

Are your Tucson promotional models certified to serve alcohol?

Yes. Rockstarr Media holds alcohol licensing in every state we work, and our models are certified and trained to serve alcohol, so beverage sampling and bar promotions in Tucson are covered. Staff at alcohol events are 21 or older.

How experienced is Rockstarr Media at event staffing?

Rockstarr Media has been staffing events since 2001: more than 5,000 events in 100+ cities across the US, with hundreds of staff available and local teams in Tucson and the towns around it.
