Most of San Diego's large events orbit the San Diego Convention Center on Harbor Drive, with more than half a million square feet of contiguous exhibit space and the glass-enclosed Sails Pavilion, all within walking distance of the Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park. Comic-Con International takes over the building and much of downtown each July, and the San Diego International Auto Show opens the calendar there around New Year's. Up the coast, the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Torrey Pines draw their own crowds, while Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley and Pechanga Arena host sports and concerts.

Sampling rules at the convention center
The San Diego Convention Center lets lawful food and beverage manufacturers or distributors sample only from their own booth, with prior approval. Solid samples are capped at two ounces by weight and non-alcoholic drinks at four ounces. Any alcohol sampling must go through the center's own Food and Beverage Department. We brief staff on those limits before doors open.
Parking and the trolley
The center's 1,950-space underground garage has no in-and-out privileges, and rates vary with event activity. The MTS Trolley stops twice in front of the building, and Santa Fe Depot, with Amtrak and COASTER service, is about a mile away. For multi-day shows we plan staff arrivals around transit, which keeps call times steady when Petco Park has a game.
Union jurisdiction on the floor
The convention center has jurisdiction agreements with four unions: Painters & Allied Trades, IATSE, IBEW and the Teamsters, covering specific setup and teardown work. Our staff work the front of your booth, greeting, demonstrating and capturing leads. Check with your event manager about which installation tasks your own employees may handle before planning a do-it-yourself build.
Bilingual audiences near the border
San Diego borders Tijuana, and many activations, especially in South Bay communities such as Chula Vista, reach Spanish-speaking shoppers and families. If your audience calls for it, say so in your request and we will put bilingual candidates forward, so your message lands in the language your customers are most comfortable with.

Can you staff Comic-Con activations in San Diego?
Yes. We can provide booth staff, lead-capture hosts, street teams and on-camera hosts for exhibits inside the convention center and off-site activations in the Gaslamp Quarter and surrounding blocks. Any activation still needs to follow Comic-Con's and the venue's own exhibitor rules, which we build into the staff briefing.
