Summer weekends stack up
From mid-June to mid-September, the rodeo, Hot August Nights, the rib cook-off and the balloon race arrive in quick succession, and Burning Man traffic passes through in late August. Confirm staff early for those weeks and share load-in times, because downtown Reno and Sparks get busy.
High desert sun, cold mornings
Reno sits at about 4,500 feet in the high desert. Summer afternoons are hot and dry, while early starts, like the balloon race's dawn launches, can be chilly. We plan layered staff attire and plenty of water for outdoor events, and we ask about a smoke plan during wildfire season.
The convention district is compact
The Reno-Sparks Convention Center and its sister venues sit near more than 15,000 hotel rooms and Reno-Tahoe International Airport. For trade shows, we can line up booth staff, registration hosts and hotel-lobby greeters who all work within a short drive of each other.
Resorts set their own rules
Much of Reno's event space is inside casino resorts such as the Grand Sierra Resort and the downtown properties. Each sets its own requirements for promotions, vendors and staff check-in, so we work from what your host property or organizer sends and confirm it before event day.
