Philadelphia's convention business centers on the Pennsylvania Convention Center, a six-block building on Arch Street with more than a million square feet of meeting and exhibit space and Reading Terminal Market at its door. It hosts the Philly Auto Show every January. Down Broad Street, the South Philadelphia Sports Complex groups Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park and Xfinity Mobile Arena, so tailgates and concourse activations run for most of the year. In summer the action moves outdoors, to Wawa Welcome America on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Independence Mall.

PCC work rules give exhibitors room
At the Pennsylvania Convention Center, an exhibitor's full-time employees may set up and tear down a booth of any size if the company owns the materials, use ladders up to six feet and power tools, and unload non-commercial vehicles. Exhibitors may also stock shelves and place product and literature, so plan which tasks your own team and our staff will cover.
Game days reshape South Philly
Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park and Xfinity Mobile Arena share one sports complex off South Broad Street, so a home game or concert affects traffic and parking for anything nearby. Check all three calendars before you set a date, and move staff by the Broad Street Line when the lots are likely to fill.
Broad Street Run takes over in May
The Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run sends more than 40,000 runners ten miles down Broad Street, from near Olney Avenue to the Navy Yard, on a Sunday in early May. Race weekend includes a Health & Wellness Expo. If you are not part of it, keep deliveries and call times off Broad Street that morning.
Summer on the Parkway
Wawa Welcome America runs from late June through the Fourth of July, with free events on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Independence Mall. Philadelphia summers are hot and humid, so outdoor staff need shade, water and rotation breaks, and July 4 brings big crowds and street closures around the Parkway.
