Hire promo models who know New Orleans

New Orleans packs a big event calendar into a compact, walkable core. The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center runs along the riverfront in the Warehouse District, with some 26,000 hotel rooms within 2.5 miles of downtown. In the Central Business District, the Caesars Superdome, the Smoothie King Center and Champions Square host Saints games, concerts and the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Then comes festival season: Carnival from Twelfth Night to Fat Tuesday, French Quarter Festival in April, and Jazz Fest at the Fair Grounds Race Course across two weekends in late April and early May.

Rockstarr Media has staffed events since 2001, more than 5,000 across over 100 U.S. cities. Our New Orleans staff live in the city and around it, in Metairie, Kenner, the West Bank and the Northshore, so they know which streets close for parades and how long it takes to cross town on a festival weekend. Staff assigned to alcohol service are trained to serve responsibly, which matters in a city where so many promotions involve a drink. Every booking is quoted, and photo and video coverage can be added.

New Orleans details we plan for

Carnival season changes the map

Carnival runs from Twelfth Night on January 6 to Fat Tuesday, which falls on February 9 in 2027. Parades close streets for weeks, hotels near the routes fill early, and a short drive can turn long. If your convention or activation lands in that window, we set staff arrival times around the published parade schedule.

Working the riverfront convention center

The Morial Convention Center is long and runs parallel to the Mississippi in the Warehouse District, so a booth at one end can be a real walk from the other. We brief staff on hall numbers, entrances and break areas. Many attendees walk over from downtown hotels, which makes door and lobby greeters worth considering.

Heat, rain and storm season

New Orleans is hot and humid for much of the year, summer afternoons often bring storms, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. Outdoor sampling and festival staff need shade, water and a rain plan, and we agree on a weather call with you well before any outdoor date.

Getting to and around the city

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is about 25 minutes from downtown, and the streetcar system links neighborhoods for staff and attendees alike. Parking near the French Quarter and the Superdome gets tight on event days, so we often plan staff drop-offs or remote parking and put those details on the call sheet.

Every year

New Orleans's big activation dates

  • January–February (Fat Tuesday: Feb. 9, 2027)
    Mardi Gras

Weeks of parades and packed hotels; bar promotions and hospitality activations run nonstop through the season.

  • April (2027: April 8–11)
    French Quarter Festival

More than 20 stages and 60+ Louisiana restaurants in the French Quarter, backed by beverage and consumer sponsors.

  • Late April–early May (2027: Apr. 22–25 and Apr. 29–May 2)
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

Two weekends at the Fair Grounds Race Course; sponsor spaces need engaging, heat-ready staff.

  • January (2027: Jan. 15)
    Allstate Sugar Bowl

A College Football Playoff semifinal at the Caesars Superdome, with Sugar Bowl Fest, a parade and Tailgate Town for fan activations.

FAQ

Promotional models in New Orleans: questions

Can you staff conventions at the Morial Convention Center?

Yes. Our New Orleans staff work booth, registration and hosting roles at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Send your hall, booth size and show schedule, and we will quote a team sized for your traffic, including break coverage on long show days.

Is it hard to staff events during Mardi Gras?

It takes more planning. Parade closures and traffic affect call times from early January through Fat Tuesday. Our people live locally and know the routes, and we build schedules around the published parade calendar. Demand is high, so book early.

Do you cover Metairie, Kenner and the Northshore?

Yes. We staff events across the metro, including Metairie, Kenner, the West Bank, Slidell, Mandeville and Covington. Staff who live near the venue keep commutes short, especially when bridge or parade traffic is a factor.

What is the busiest event season in New Orleans?

Late winter through spring. Carnival builds from January to Fat Tuesday, then French Quarter Festival arrives in April and Jazz Fest spans late April and early May. Convention traffic stays steady too, so book staff several weeks ahead for that stretch.

Are your New Orleans promotional models certified to serve alcohol?

Yes. Rockstarr Media holds alcohol licensing in every state we work, and our models are certified and trained to serve alcohol, so beverage sampling and bar promotions in New Orleans are covered. Staff at alcohol events are 21 or older.

How experienced is Rockstarr Media at event staffing?

Rockstarr Media has been staffing events since 2001: more than 5,000 events in 100+ cities across the US, with hundreds of staff available and local teams in New Orleans and the towns around it.
