The connected Memphis Riverline Hotel and the 2,051-seat Cannon Center share the complex, a short trip from FedExForum and Beale Street. Beyond downtown, the calendar moves from the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest in May to the Southern Heritage Classic at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in September and Mempho at Radians Amphitheater in October.

The convention center faces Main Street and the river
The Renasant Convention Center is at 255 N. Main St., with the 600-room Memphis Riverline Hotel connected directly and an open-air concourse leading to Main Street. Its 28,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom and 18,000-square-foot Junior Ballroom host receptions, so booth staff and evening hosts often work the same building on the same day.
May is barbecue month
The World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest runs May 12–15 in 2027, and the Great American River Run follows on Memorial Day weekend. Outdoor work in a Memphis May can be hot and humid, so we schedule sensible shift lengths, rotate breaks and brief staff on hydration before doors open.
Football weekends with a following
The Southern Heritage Classic pairs Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Alcorn State in a September cultural celebration; the 2027 edition is set for September 10–11. The AutoZone Liberty Bowl, the seventh-oldest college bowl game, follows at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, with the 68th game on January 2, 2027. Both bring big tailgate crowds.
