Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, long known as the BCEC, anchors the Seaport with 516,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space and hosts the New England Boat Show and PAX East. Know who may touch what on the show floor
Under Signature Boston's exhibitor rules at the MCEC and Hynes, exhibiting companies' own employees may unload vehicles up to 24 feet, use hand trucks and hand-operated power tools, and pack their own displays; fork trucks and pallet jacks are off-limits. Contracted promo staff should stick to greeting, demos and lead capture unless your show contractor says otherwise.
Clear booth sampling with Levy first
Levy Restaurants is the exclusive food and beverage provider at both the MCEC and the Hynes, with in-booth catering menus and rentals such as popcorn machines and ice cream freezers. If your booth plan includes food or drink sampling, settle the details with the venue's food service early, then we can staff the demo itself.
Use the Silver Line and the Green Line
The MCEC is steps from the Silver Line's World Trade Center stop, about a 15-minute walk from South Station and roughly eight minutes by taxi from Logan. The Hynes has four T stations within a short walk, including Hynes Convention Center, Copley and Prudential on the Green Line and Back Bay on the Orange Line.
Plan for winter and Patriots' Day
The New England Boat Show arrives in February, so staff working entrances need indoor holding space and somewhere to put heavy coats. In April, the Boston Marathon runs on Patriots' Day and finishes in Back Bay, and race-weekend events and road closures change traffic across the area; schedule deliveries and call times around them.
