Tired of Chasing Tips From the Beverage Cart? Your Skills Are Worth More Than That
It's 6:15 in the morning and you're already loading ice. The first tee time is at seven, the cooler has to be full and the coffee isn't even working yet. By noon it's 98 degrees on the back nine, and that little roof over the cart isn't doing much.
You know the drill. You pull up to a foursome with your best smile. One guy says "maybe next time around." Another waves you off without looking up from his phone. The third buys a water with exact change and drives away. That was hole six. You'll try again at nine.
Some days are great. A tournament, a big group that tips like they mean it, a regular who knows your name and your dog's name. But a lot of days are a slow Tuesday. A rain delay that sends everyone to the clubhouse. A January morning so cold the cans stick to your fingers. On those days you work just as hard, you smile just as much, and you go home with a lot less, because so much of what you take home depends on whether people buy.
Here's what nobody on the course tells you: the skills you use out there every single day are exactly what brands pay for.
What you already know how to do
- Strangers: you walk up to groups of people you've never met, a hundred times a shift
- Reading people: in two seconds you know who wants to talk and who wants to be left alone
- Selling without being pushy: "Cold one for the turn?" is a sales pitch, and you do it all day
- Remembering: names, drinks and orders, and regulars notice when you do
- Energy: smiling at hour eight like it's hour one
- Weather: sun, wind, heat and cold, and you still show up
- Responsibility: handling drinks and money on your own
In our world that has a name. It's called promotional modeling, or brand ambassador work, and it's one of the fastest ways for a new face to start getting booked.
What promo work looks like
- Where: store openings, trade shows, conventions, sampling tables, festivals, sports events and bar promotions
- What you do: greet people, hand out samples, talk about a product and collect sign-ups
- Hours: a booked shift with a start time and an end time
- Pay: you're paid for the hours you're booked, not for whether someone buys
- Indoors too: many trade shows and conventions are in air conditioning
What it can pay
- With Rockstarr Media: up to $75 an hour on select bookings
- National median: $18.91 an hour for demonstrators and product promoters, the government's job category for this work (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2025)
- Your rate: depends on the city, the brand and the event
The difference you'll feel
No more doing math on the cart path, wondering if today will be worth it. On a booked shift you know your hours before you walk in. You're part of a team, there's a lead on site, and when the event ends, you go home. Every booking adds real experience to your résumé and puts you in front of brands that book again.
You don't have to quit the course
- Keep your cart shifts and pick up promo bookings on your days off
- Weekends, evenings and the holiday season are when events stack up
- Tell us when you're free in the Availability box when you apply
The girl everyone asks for by name?
Every course has one: the cart girl the regulars ask for by name, the one who can get a whole group laughing before the first drink is open. If that's you, think bigger than promo work. Rockstarr Media is casting the host of JET SETTERS, our travel series by private jet to exclusive islands. It's for girls 21 and older who can light up a camera the way you light up a foursome. You can choose JET SETTERS Host when you apply.
How to apply this week
- Step 1: apply free on our casting page. It takes about three minutes
- Step 2: choose Model, New Faces. If you're 21 or older, you can choose JET SETTERS Host
- Step 3: in About You, write that you work a beverage cart and for how long
- Step 4: add two clear photos, one close-up and one full length, natural light, no filters
- Step 5: watch your texts and your email from casting@rockstarrmedia.com, and check your spam folder too

Your Questions, Answered
Can a golf course cart girl become a promo model?
Yes. Beverage cart girls already approach strangers, sell, remember regulars and work long shifts outdoors. Those are the skills brands book promo models and brand ambassadors for. Apply free to Rockstarr Media and mention your cart job in the About You box.
How much do promo models make?
With Rockstarr Media, promo models have earned up to $75 an hour on select bookings. Nationally, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a median of $18.91 an hour for demonstrators and product promoters (May 2025). Your rate depends on the city, the brand and the event.
Do promo models get paid if nobody buys anything?
Promo work is booked by the shift: you're paid for the hours you're booked, not for whether people buy.
Do I have to quit my golf course job?
No. Many girls keep their cart shifts and pick up promo bookings on their days off. Put your free days in the Availability box when you apply.
How old do I have to be?
18 or older. Events that serve or sample alcohol, and the JET SETTERS host role, are 21 or older.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying is free, and you never pay to be considered.
